I traveled
the 625
miles from
Hartford, CT
to Roanoke,
Virginia to
attend the
S E
National
Spring Meet
bringing
both a car
and a
motorcycle.
Somewhere in
Pennsylvania
and about
300 miles
from Roanoke
I lost my
trailer
brakes. I
limped the
last 300
miles
without any
trailer
brakes and
arrived in
Roanoke
about
10:30am on a
Friday.
At the
registration
table in the
Conference
Center I
explained my
“trailer
brake
problem” to
the people
manning the
desk. One
man
(unfortunately
I did not
get his
name)
immediately
escorted me
into the
hotel
administration
office, got
on the phone
and put me
in touch
with the
Welch family
at Henry’s
Auto and
Trailer
Sales.
Mr. Welch
told me to
come right
over to his
shop. Upon
arrival the
Welch family
moved three
vehicles out
of their
work bay and
moved my
truck and
trailer in.
Within 1 ½
hours they
had my
brakes fully
operational
and me to
the trailer
parking area
to prep my
vehicles for
the show.
I want to
specifically
thank the
Welch family
for their
concern for
this
“Yankee” and
their
willingness
to help out
a fellow
AACA member.
I thoroughly
enjoyed my
short time
in your
beautiful
city and
hope to
return in
the near
future.
Sincerely,
P. McCollam |
